Feeding the birds

With a lot of creativity and some old stuff that we shouldn’t have in the house anymore, my mom put together this place to feed the birds. There are lots of different birds here and some already come to our backyard: sabiá-laranjeira (Rufous-bellied Thrush), bem-te-vi (Great Kiskadee), cambacica (Bananaquit), periquito (parrot), beija-flor (hummingbird), pardal (sparrow), and many others.

For the hummingbirds and the bananaquit we have flowers and nectar. Sometimes they fight over the nectar. It’s really funny! Now, for the other birds we bought seeds and other stuff they like. We still don’t have enough space, but we want to put fruits and sunflower seeds for the parrots. There are some yellow macaws that fly over here, but I don’t think they’ll try to come down.

They all come to eat. But Boo is always hiding somewhere and trying to catch them. We thought that putting the plate somewhere high she wouldn’t get there. But she could jump and almost caught the thrush.
